Firefighters rush to Derbyshire house blaze

A blaze broke out in a house on the outskirts of Ashover last night.

Firefighters from Alfreton and Clay Cross were called to Temperance Hill in Wooley Moor at 11.35pm.

A Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The fire was in a front bedroom.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire and left the scene at 12.20am.

"The occupants had evacuated safely and nobody was injured.

"An investigation into the case of the fire is underway."
